Developing fine motor skills

  • A wonderful balance between learning academics such as ABC’s, counting with math manipulatives, and learning to recognize their name, combined with those fun but messy things such as painting, play-dough, rice table, and water play. We pack a lot of new activities into every day using our multi-experiential curriculum so children are never bored!
  • Fine motor skills are developed as children learn to pour from a pitcher, cut with scissors, glue an art project, use tweezers, and hold and use markers and colored pencils.

  • Gross motor skills, involving arms and legs are developed by swinging on the playground, climbing, running, riding the tricycles, and in a structured way during gymnastics class taught by a certified gymnastics teacher who teaches for Gymnasticsworld, included at no additional charge.
  • Developmentally appropriate weekly themes and activities are listed on the white board;  schedules and curriculum are posted in the classroom.

We take several field trips with both our 3’s and 4’s classes.  These trips are lots of fun and an enriching experience for the children.  Parents are invited to participate if their schedules permit.  Field trips in the past have included Buckelew Farms to pick pumpkins, the apple orchard, the dairy farm to see the cows milked, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the T-Rex museum, the Children’s Museum, the Reid Park Zoo, and to the University of Arizona to attend a children’s play.

  • Weekly themes teach children about their world, in an integrated curriculum that incorporates Language Arts, Science, Math, Art and Music activities, which allows each child to learn through their area of strength.
    xx
  • We have a strong music program and have a Christmas performance and an End-of-the-Year performance which includes a graduation ceremony, complete with caps and gowns.
    xx
  • Our teacher, Ms. Desi, has helped children learn in many fun and creative ways at our school for 8 years.

“Wow!  From diapers, to walking, to writing his name and now leaving for kindergarten…
all of the teachers and aids have been part of Dominique’s learning and growing up since
2004.  We want to express our appreciation to your staff for allowing Dominique to be
successful in his learning and advancement in personal growth.”
